Just 4,280 people attended the first Rayo Vallecano game of the new La Liga season against Alavés. Roughly a third of last season´s average attendance in proof that despite the game being moved into Madrid at Leganes, the boycott that fans previously stated they would keep at a open rally outside Rayo´s true stadium, has held.
Now, Rayo fans are determined to continue to keep up the pressure on their unloved owner Martin Presa who, despite the club he owns having recieved millions in recent transfer fees and TV funding, seemingly is incapable of maintaining a ground to even basic health standards.
After another public forum, Rayo fans announced a new mass protest march will take place on Saturday 5th September, the same day that Rayo will once again be forced to play away from their true home.

The march itself will finish outside the Estadio de Vallecas at roughly the same time that Rayo would be welcoming La Liga newcomers Racing Santander (themselves no stranger to poor ownership in years gone by).
Although the ownership group may have hoped that Rayo Vallecano fans would meekly submit once the season got underway, it seems they have severely underestimated the strength of feeling within the Rayo fanbase.
