Rui Ochoa 74-99 exhibition finishes 16th July
The collection of photographs from Portuguese photojournalist Rui Ochoa charting the rapid transition of Portugual from unrest towards a democratic state only has one week more to be seen. The intimate exhibtion, with its collection of 35 photographs, allows viewers to walk through one of the most turbulent times of modern Portuguese history from the Carnation Revolution towards its current democratic present.

Hosted in Ateneo , the exhibition captures moments of high tension with soldiers marching on the streets in the choas of declining legtimicacy of the dictatorship towards the final photos of Rua da Atalaía in 1982 , showing a nation more at ease with itself. The exhibition forms part of a collection of events ‘Portugal-España: 50 años de Cultura y Democracia’ from the initiative of the Portuguese embassy.
